ISF Highlights International Seed Movement at Inaugural Peruvian Seed Congress

ISF was honored to contribute to the inaugural Peruvian Seed Congress, held on 21-22 August 2025  in Arequipa, Peru. The event was organized by the National Institute of Agrarian Innovation (INIA) and the Catholic University of Santa María de Arequipa, with support from the Peruvian Seed Association (APE Semillas).

Representing ISF, Dr. Rose Souza Richards, Phytosanitary Affairs Manager, joined national seed industry stakeholders to share expertise on phytosanitary measures and international seed movement. She also took part in collaborative sessions with SENASA, focusing on alignment of regulated pest lists and the promotion of science-based approaches that protect plant health while enabling safe trade.

This engagement builds on two successful joint webinars held in June and July, which set the stage for deeper dialogue and cooperation between ISF and Peru’s seed sector.

ISF extends its gratitude to Luis Burgos, President of APE Semillas, and Julio Miguel Vivas Bancallan, CEO, for their leadership and warm collaboration. Special thanks are also due to the Seed Association of the Americas (SAA) for its valuable support in making these exchanges possible.
