Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam — On March 4-5, representatives, ISF joined other representatives at the ePhyto Capacity-Building Workshop, which is part of the STDF-funded project “Strengthening Phytosanitary Compliance to Boost Seed Trade in the Asia-Pacific” (STDF/PG/755). ISF was represented by Phytosanitary Affairs Manager Dr. Rose Souza Richards/

This workshop marked a milestone in Vietnam’s adoption of the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) ePhyto solution—a critical digital tool designed to streamline phytosanitary certification, enhance security, and facilitate faster, safer trade. Discussions focused on how the IPPC ePhyto Solution can support the future of seed trade in the Asia-Pacific, bringing together government agencies, private sector representatives, and regional organizations.

Key Takeaways:

🔹 Regional Collaboration: Australia, Thailand, and the Philippines shared insights on their ePhyto implementation experiences and challenges.
🔹 Vietnam’s Progress: As Vietnam takes its initial steps toward ePhyto adoption, this engagement comes at a crucial time.
🔹 The Future of Digitalization: Digital transformation of phytosanitary processes is essential for more efficient trade while maintaining robust plant health standards.

ISF thanks APAARI, STDF, the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, and CropLife Vietnam for organizing this event. We look forward to continued collaboration to accelerate the adoption of digital phytosanitary solutions for the benefit of global seed trade.
