The International Seed Federation (ISF) recently participated in two key events, engaging with leaders across the food value chain to advance sustainability and innovation. These gatherings, identified by the Value Chain Working Group, provided a platform for ISF to amplify the private seed sector’s voice and explore collaborative solutions for a more resilient food system.
One event was the Sustainable Retail Summit, organized by The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) in Paris from 2-4 February 2026. CGF, a global network of CEOs from retail, manufacturing, and distribution, focuses on driving better business for better lives, aligning economic success with social and environmental progress. Through expert-led coalitions, CGF addresses critical issues such as food and plastic waste, climate action, forest conservation, healthier lifestyles, and human rights.

At this year’s Summit, sustainability and innovation took center stage, with industry leaders discussing how to set ambitious benchmarks to accelerate positive impact. For ISF, these conversations were instrumental in understanding evolving industry dynamics and positioning the seed sector as a key contributor to global sustainability efforts.
Looking ahead, ISF will expand its partnership with CGF in 2026, particularly through the Human Rights Council, to guide the implementation of ISF’s Social Guidelines for Seed Production (to be launched at the ISF World Seed Congress 2026 in May). Additionally, ISF will explore collaboration with the Sustainable Supply Chain Initiative (SSCI) to foster cross-sectoral engagement.
In 2026, ISF will deepen its collaboration with CGF, including engagement with the Human Rights Council to support the implementation of ISF’s Social Guidelines for Seed Production and the Sustainable Supply Chain Initiative (SSCI). These efforts aim to promote cross-sectoral cooperation for a more sustainable future.
